Location: Makers Church, 3810 Bancroft Street, San Diego, CA

Status: Part-Time. $23/hr. Expected 10 hours a week, Occasional events at a max 15 hrs a week.
JOB SUMMARY
Develop and implement the vision for Kids Ministries in collaboration with the Leadership Team and Pastoral Staff.
The Kids Ministries Coordinator is responsible for the development and implementation of the Sunday experience including curriculum and volunteer retention. They will ideate and coordinate kids and holiday events alongside the Families Director. They take on responsibilities of being on Makers Church staff, which includes being commissioned (completing Cultivate), attending monthly staff meetings, and staffing mandatory Makers Church events (example: Good Friday).
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and prepare PK-grade 5 curriculum to be ready before 8:00 AM on Sunday (from GROW curriculum or new or self-developed curriculum)
- Arrive at 8AM on Sundays to help set up/tear down Kids Ministry areas with the help of Families Director, Kids Staff, and volunteer team
- Recruit, retain, and schedule Kids Ministry volunteers and staff volunteers alongside teaching staff.
- Oversee/Assist with check-in & follow-up process
- Identify and greet parents and children
- Meet new parents- providing overview of our program and tour of space when needed.
- Be available to answer questions and assist volunteers and fill in as sub when required.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and prepare the planned curriculum for each Sunday
- Meets with Families Director once a week (~30 minutes) and adhere to staff guidelines.
- Attends monthly staff meetings (Mondays from 4PM-5PM)
- Develops processes necessary for effective KM operations, including managing inventory.
- Oversee the selection, purchase and implementation of curriculum and KM programming
- Send new parent e-mails via PCO and field PCO communication as needed.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ideate and host one 30X30 event in each 30X30 season (EG: Kids Art is Life)
- Assist on Families & Kids Ministry events as needed (EG: Fall Festival/Chilli Cook-off Sunday, Campout)
- Ideate and host two Kids Ministry staff/volunteer events per year
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Safety screening including passing a fingerprinted LiveScan background check.
- Experience leading children and children’s programming for diverse age groups.
