Facilities Team Member

Location: San Diego, CA 
Reports To: Facilities Coordinator 
Type: Part-Time // 12hrs a Week // $18.03/hr 
JOB SUMMARY 
The Facilities Team Member supports the day-to-day care, cleanliness, and readiness of the campus by ensuring classrooms, sanctuary, and common areas are clean, safe, welcoming, and properly set up for regular use and special events. This role also assists with event setup and teardown, basic security oversight, and opening and closing the building as scheduled. 
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 
Cleaning & Maintenance Support 
  • Perform weekly cleaning of classrooms, sanctuary, offices, and common areas
  •  Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop floors 
  • Wipe down and disinfect surfaces, tables, chairs, and high-touch areas
  •  Spot clean carpets, walls, and furniture as needed 
  • Clean windows and glass surfaces 
  • Empty trash and replace liners throughout the facility 
Event Support 
  • Set up and tear down rooms for services, meetings, and special events
  •  Arrange chairs, tables, equipment, and other furnishings as directed 
  • Support event transitions to ensure spaces are ready on time 
Building Access & Security 
  • Open the building and secure/lock up after scheduled events 
  • Conduct periodic security walkthroughs and facility checks 
  • Serve as on-site support for basic event security needs 
  • Report safety concerns, maintenance issues, or suspicious activity to the Facilities Coordinator
General Support 
  • Follow established cleaning schedules, safety procedures, and checklists
  •  Maintain tidy and organized storage and supply areas 
  • Assist with additional facility-related tasks as assigned 
Qualifications 
  • Ability to work independently and follow schedules and checklists
  •  Physically able to stand, walk, lift, and move equipment as needed
  •  Reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious 
  • Comfortable working early mornings, evenings, or weekends as required for events

Middle Grade Youth Sunday School Teacher

PURPOSE:
To lead, disciple, and empower middle school students (grades 6–8) through weekly Sunday programming and intentional weekday gatherings that help them grow in faith, community, and purpose.
REPORTS TO: Youth Coordinator
POINT AUTHORITY: Youth Coordinator
INPUT AUTHORITY: Youth Volunteers, Kids, Youth Director
VETO AUTHORITY: Youth Director, Kids Pastor, Pastors
INFO AUTHORITY: Youth Volunteers, Makers Staff, Kids, Parents
LEADING: Middle School students, Volunteers
HOURS: Part-Time (4-5 hours per week expected), $22.88/hr starting pay
EXPECTED PARTICIPATION: Sunday service, monthly Makers staff meeting (after church on first Sunday of the month), prep/planning meetings with Youth Director.
Hours may grow/adjust to include additional programming (monthly field trip, biweekly small group, etc.) based on Coordinator capacity/vision.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Middle School Coordinator is responsible for leading middle school ministry at Makers Church. This includes weekly Sunday programming, optional weekday discipleship opportunities, volunteer coordination, and student engagement—creating a safe, welcoming, and Christ-centered environment for middle school students to grow in their relationship with God and one another
PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT & LEADERSHIP
  • Under the leadership of the youth director, deliver engaging Sunday morning programming that reflects the mission and values of Makers Church.
  • Receive and delivery teaching materials, games, and discussions that are age-appropriate, relevant, and biblically grounded.
  • Provide leadership, encouragement, and support for middle school volunteers and student leaders.
  • Collaborate with the Youth Director and Kids Pastor to create a seamless discipleship pathway from elementary through high school.
STUDENT ENGAGEMENT & DISCIPLESHIP
  • Build relationships with middle school students through consistent presence, care, and mentorship.
  • Facilitate optional weekday gatherings such as monthly field trips, biweekly small groups, or service opportunities that foster connection and growth.
  • Encourage spiritual formation, prayer, and worship in all ministry activities.
PARENT & TEAM COLLABORATION
  • Communicate regularly with parents, providing updates, resources, and encouragement for family discipleship at home.
  • Participate in youth and staff meetings, sharing insights from the middle school ministry to help shape overall student programming.
